Case study, Bargain Hunters

A three-sided marketplace for local experience deals

A New Zealand deals platform connecting local experience businesses, deal-hunting customers and influencer promoters: vouchers for the best of local at 30–70% off, with creators earning on every sale they drive. Now trading as Lokal.

01
The challenge

Coupon sites were built for physical products and big national brands. Nobody was serving local experience businesses, spas, studios, adventures, dining, and nobody was cutting the promoters who actually drive the sales into the upside.

02
The approach

We designed and built the full three-sided ecosystem: storefronts and voucher fulfilment for experience businesses, a deal-hunting shop for customers with vouchers redeemed in person, and an influencer programme with tracked links and per-sale rewards, plus the admin, payments and commission engine holding it all together.

03
The result

The platform launched with businesses, customers and influencers transacting in one marketplace and proved the commission model end to end. It was later rebranded as Lokal and continues as a locals-first way to fill calendars and sell experiences.
